Excellent Shock for Bigger Mics

I've had this shock mount, Blue Mic boom arm, and a Yeti Pro USB for over a decade now and have really enjoyed it. I've retired my Yeti Pro USB now and moved on to other XLR mics (JZ, Earthworks, Aston Mics), however I still have this and use it with other microphones. It can handle the heavier ones. I also have the Blue Mic Boom arm too, but have since moved on to the Samson Boom Arms (38" & 48") since they can handle some serious mic weight and this shock mount fits nicely on them. And the price for this (as of this review) is a steal compared to the other higher end shock mounts you may be looking at.

nothing else like it

I have an old CAD Equitek 200. A very cool, very useful large diaphram condenser mic. It's huge. It came with a special mic to stand attachment that's not shock mount. I wanted to get it shock mounted. This Blue Microphones Radius III Shock Mount for Yeti and Yeti Pro USB Microphones was suggested by Sweetwater's Michael Grebe. Success. No other shock mount was large enough. This one works perfectly. Initially, I thought that the big circular style would prevent artists from working close enough to the mic. Not so. Once in place, the mic is perfectly accessible. Combined with a new Steadman pop filter, this is a great setup.

Shock mount

For someone who is a YouTuber this is perfect for the job. I am so Happy with the purchase I really am very happy I bought it. It arrived super early to the product does exactly what it"s supposed to will buy again when the one I have finally is on its last leg.

Works but needs quality control

Tested with and without the shock mount, stomping on the floor and tapping and rubbing the mic stand. The shock mount significantly reduces vibrations traveling through the stand into the microphone. I have not compared to other shock mounts.

However, the hole for the mounting screw is too small! I had to grind it out with my Dremel to make it big enough for the screw to fit through into the microphone.

Nice design but it doesn’t perform

This shock mount looks great paired with a Blue Yeti Pro mic. But, the clamp is unable to maintain the angle I set the mic at and slips. I was concerned about over-tightening due to the material composition. Might be fine for a lighter mic.
